3i-MAM digital media asset management system

——Simpleness Flexible Standardization Efficiency


        3i-MAM system is aiming to solve the media assets for classification and management in digital, exchange and reuse, and establish uniform center platform for media contents management. This system use workflow technology to support acquisition, uploading and inputting digital audio and video, classify and manage media metadata in standard description form. Using powerful search engine to achieve data queries, browse and subscribe, and using data command to download, release these information. By using media analysis tools, this system can achieve depth classification after disposing the media information. Other subsystem’s metadata and media file can assort to this system by data exchange interface, in order to store and manage the whole media assets.

        3i-MAM media asset management system is fit for TV station, broadcasting station, digital library, and many industries (police, education, finance, transportation etc.) that store and manage audio and video information in digital.

        3i-MAM system versions 1.2 is composed of cataloging and index subsystem, search and browse subsystem, download and purchase subsystem. Users are divided into admin users, cataloging and index user, search and browse user with clear and different responsibilities. The system uses layered modular design and makes it easy to upgrade.

      • 3i-MAM system can be customized needed flow in cataloging process freely by users.
      • According to flow template, system startup cataloging flow and the data move freely in the flow.
    • Standard support
      • 3i-MAM system fully supports the cataloging standard of SARFT (The State Administration of Radio Film and Television). The input way and relation of metadata are completely consistent with standards and class them according to programs, scenes, key frames. According to their practical needs, users also can add or delete some metadata items and form their own criterion, including the input layout of page.
      • In the process of cataloging, system take out a mass of metadata data according to media object and directly insert into corresponding metadata to save cataloging time and improve cataloging efficiency.
      • User can freely customize the mapping relation between metadata in media and standards or user-defined standards.
    • Metadata input
      • In the process of inputting hierarchical metadata, pages will display all of them in tree structure way, and show different input hierarchical metadata item according to the current chosen.
      • User can record media objects while playing them and the process is simple and intuitive.

    • Flexible query types
      • User can choose two different search types, the common type and the advanced one. The common type has simple input data and is fit for searching when user is fuzzy to media object concept, improving system’s recall ration.
      • Advanced search type need special query option and is fit for searching when user is clear to media objects that he need, improving system’s precision.

      • The search page is divided into search condition, hierarchical information, relation information, metadata and key frame areas, and is open-and-shut with organic scheduling.
      • The system can play media object from the appointed key frame, saving user’s browsing time.
      • User can download and purchase media asset after searching to recycle the asset. The media asset will be authorized in the process of downloading.
